Had a blast teaching a card class this past weekend at Stamper’s Corner. We focused on the new Tim Holtz stamps + lots of distress fun.
Oh yeah, and I had some awesome assistants.

Good (crafty) times!
no rules, just happy crafting

Who is ready to really dig into April? I’m not *quite* ready, but I am so ready for the spring season to take flight so let’s kick today off with this week’s Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge: Fly. Visit the blog to see all of the other creations and to enter. This week’s prize (as always) is a $50 voucher to Simon Says Stamp! The winner is randomly drawn – you can enter by posting to your blog, flickr, or other site too. See the blog for entry details and rules as usual.

I can never start a notebook and leave it plain or decorated as-is. I only buy the cheapest of notebooks, then decorate them myself! Thinking about all the things I’d like to do, all of the projects, goals, and other things I hope will take flight this spring I was inspired to decorate this notebook for this week’s challenge. It really was fun and easy as well, here’s how.
1. Paint with gesso (to prime) cover. Then paint with blue + pink distress paints, allow to fully dry.
2. Use archival ink to stamp hearts onto background, as well as the bird.
3. Finish the book by adding distress stickles, letter stickers, and edging with both green and black ink.

I hope you’re inspired to join us – and that your creativity will take flight this week!

Cleaning and organizing I found this little card that I made featuring Tim Holtz stamps, and a photo. Photo cards aren’t usually my thing, but I’m thinking about doing some for Mother’s Day (which is fast approaching) and this just reminded me I ought to get to it!

One of my favorite things to do is to add water to an image stamped with distress ink. I love the blurry, faded results that are always unique. Love how that helped me make my route 66 background on this card.

I’m behind the times guys! Between Easter, spring break, catching a cold, getting better only to come down with allergies only to find no, it is ANOTHER virus… yeah. Time is flying WAY too fast around here!! So today, I’m once again playing catch up this time I’m listing some “WOW” that I’ve noticed and wanted to share with you in case you hadn’t heard about these things.
Join the BPC crew for a FREE (inter)national scrapbook day event on-line!! The info for this year’s creative crop can be found here. All you have to do is register (it is free!) and of course after the event the material will remain there to look at so if you’re busy on that day you can always hop back on the next day (or next week) and see the fun stuff.
I think I mentioned it before – but WOW. Kelly Purkey + Simon Says stamp = great things for 2013! You can check out her products here, and I am betting that we will see a LOT of exciting stuff from Kelly. She will have bi-monthly project kits as well as products (stickers, stamps, sequins – who knows what else?!) sold individually too. I love that she’s partnered with my favorite online shop!
Tim Holtz distress paint in metallic is here! (Photo above from www.timholtz.com) YAHOO!! Seriously excited about these. Just starting to play with them, I hope next week to have a feature up here to share more about them. These are really a lot of fun. Simon Says Stamp already has them too!
Amy Tan has a new (instant/download) class up at 2peas! It looks super inspiring and lots of fun. You can register + get more info here.
I think that catches me up on the big + exciting things I’ve noticed lately! Time sure is flying around here – why NEXT WEEK Camp Scrap 2013 will open for registration and my “Countdown to camp scrap” series will begin here on my blog! For now, I’m off to make the most of this lovely sunny day and try to keep on crossing off those to-do items that seem to pile up faster than I can take care of them.
