challenge: inspiration francaise

bonjour!

I encourage you to head over immediately (if you’ve not done so already) and visit Simon Says Stamp & Show to see all of the other creations and to enter! This week’s prize (as always) is a $50 voucher to Simon Says Stamp! The winner is randomly drawn – you can enter by posting to your blog, flickr, or other site too. See the blog for entry details and rules.

This week we’re inspired by all things French! I decided to use my French General goodies (which I have, love, and have a teeny tendency to hoard!) and then I thought “why not translate my Christmas notes” into French and make a little notebook to keep in my purse with my present lists and such!

Supplies used:

My how-to is pretty simple! I used the tag packaging, stitched it on, then stamped with my french script collage stamp, and decorated!

I love how it turned out! I sealed everything with some Perfect Paper Adhesive in matte finish so that things won’t fall off when I go out shopping to get the season kicked off!

I hope you join in the challenge too!

Before I go, I want to also encourage you to check out the Simon Says Stamp blog today! I am doing a special four part series on Holiday crafting fun over there. Today, I’ve got several projects featuring Hero Arts stamps! My favorites are these:

Of course – you really can’t go wrong! I love soooo many Hero Christmas and holiday stamps – you’ll see lots of “holiday hero” posts coming here soon!! In the meantime… I wish you a happy Monday.

A quick card…

Sometimes, you only have a little time. That can still be crafty time instead of web surfing or mindless TV “I won’t even remember what I watched when I wake up” time for sure. That’s just what I did last night – today I want to share this card featuring one of my current favorite techniques too (more on that another day).

I used the Simon Says Stamp card kit,  a bit of ink, some glossy accents, and my beloved sunflower sparkle mist (ranger) to complete this card.

Happy Crafting!

priorities are good. so is Nerd Fitness.

Sometimes I get asked how I do so much. Truth? I don’t do as much as I want to! I always am baffled by ‘bored’ people. I have so much I want to do, see, experience, try, play with… I couldn’t be bored! Likewise, I don’t buy “I don’t have time” excuses. Oh, I get busy. BELIEVE ME, I get busy… but everybody has the same 24 in a day, just different choices and priorities, you know? Own it, rock it out, accept it.

I’m kinda rambling, I know. But with feeling the need to really get back on track with the good changes I established this summer and wanting to go out of 2012 in a super good place, I was checking in with myself and it reminded me that I wanted to share a link or three with you. That is, if you want to know who has been inspiring me like CRAZY for the past seven months and who has helped me really clean some junk out, cut even more excuses, and who encouraged me to jump over to the freeweight side of the gym (which I CRAZY love!) and up my game big time.

That’d be Steve of Nerd Fitness. If you want some no-excuses, no punches pulled, excellent healthy and productive and happy living inspiration – you must read. He breaks it all down so that even scardy cats like me can find themselves doing push-ups. He simplifies it so there aren’t excuses. And I love reading his articles – great reading and I can get lost in the archives so easily. Best of all, he seems like a fun person who is passionate about his message and who is living it daily. I admire all of that. His ‘priorities’ article is a personal fave. Just try saying “I don’t make my health a priority” or  “TV is more of a priority than ___” and see how that works. I used to use “I choose ___” but I like using priority even more.

I also love this article about how you can exercise ANYWHERE – it got me started on my current exercise path! There’s so much goodness to be found there – from being inspired by a cartoon to how not to suck at building healthy habits, a Mario Kart guide to momentum, and even some ‘newbie’ posts too. I won’t gush any more – because honestly the site speaks for itself.

Now, I’m off to be more of a robot, and work on leveling up this November!!
