Challenge: paint

A new week and a whole new challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show!

It is time for a new Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge, this week it is all about paint. Remember you can make ANYTHING crafty that you’d like! The only real rule is just that you in some way be inspired by the challenge – everyone is welcome. To be entered [Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 voucher- randomly drawn!] you just need to participate + link up! You can get all the details at the blog here.

Ok, so what did I make this week? I went for a teeny little notebook just perfect for the upcoming fall season.

Really straightforward stuff – plenty of dabber paints (you know I LOVE my dabber paints!) and creative play. I really love these Studio Calico notebooks. They come with the covers separate so you can bind them however you want – and decorating them doesn’t mean getting gunk on the inside pages either (unless you want to).

I did use PPA to seal my book after I did the painting on the cover and bound it with tape. This just gave extra hold, and will ensure that things stay together. SO glad Simon is carrying that amazing product now! Adhesive, sealant, acid free, archival – yeah. LOVE IT!

Here’s a look at the finished project. Had to go fall theme and get my new stamps into the action!

Hope you liked my little journal and are inspired to play on your own! If you want to know more about my love of dabber paints – here’s a video I made for Jenni Bowlin’s newsletter a while back:

  1. Fabulous little book May! Love all the textures you achieved here, just gorgeous. Thank you so much for pointing out that SSS carries PPA now. I have a bottle at home and it is almost finished, love that stuff.

  2. Love the wood grain embossing on the background of your little mini book. The color is awesome and it really ties in well with the architectural leaf stamp you’ve used on the cover. <3 Candy
