speaking of recipes…

Since I’m waiting for glue to dry + working on top secret stuff I thought I’d share a few sneak peeks from my new Big Picture class.

I was looking through the content for my “scrapbook recipes” class that starts in a few weeks- and I have to tell you it is *packed* with layouts! (I lost count at 46!!) With a cost of $18 for registration it’s really an AWESOME deal for a month long class.

Each week has a different focus (photo, paper, embellishment, journaling) and along with the various recipes I also provide 2-3 examples of each. In addition there is a bonus handout each week, plus we’ll have chats and there is a message board to communicate with me and the others in class. It really has been a super fun experience to create- and I can’t wait to share with everyone in class!!

If you want more info about this class you can check it out here: http://www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com/recipes.php

lily lightly + so what

Hooray! Got a “no pressure” layout done this afternoon, and it feels great to be productive creatively again. By no pressure I mean it’s totally 110% just for fun, no expectations and not even possibly for any assignment or anything. So fun!!! Since left to my own choices I always choose GIRLY colors and styles- this was pure joy and I went so crazy I even put hearts above the i in the title. awww. (more glitter! bring it!)

Ok, so Elizabeth gets a new pony every now and then- this one was special from daddy. We ordered her up on-line and had to wait and wait… but when she finally came it was a BIG event and she is extra special because her horn lights up and she has a cape and SHOES!! (the stuff of girly dreams!) I used my german glass glitter (yeah!) to accent, as well as my nifty scallop trimmer blade, some heidi grace flowers, doodlebug ribbon, and YUM american crafts glitter letters to name a few things. Oh those glitter letters. I knew I’d need purple ones some day.

Another favorite used on this was my pink slick writer (American Crafts). I swear by these things! The fine point I have about 5 black ones (in case I loose some!) and then a few colors too. They’ll write on darn near anything, and often I use them on photos or those slick journaling stickers that nothing else works on. LOVE them!

While crafting this afternoon I listened to Pink’s new-ish single “so what”… and I’ll tell you it’s stuck in my brain!! If you want to sing along with me you can check it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJZDsJ8UU64

Have a happy weekend!

one hundred wishes

Have you ever checked out www.onehundredwishes.com? If not… oh my. It’s such a lovely little place filled with happy lovelies that make me smile. How can I not love a place that sells sweet candies as well as ribbons? About two weeks ago I needed some glass glitter, and ordered from the site.

Not only did my treasures come quickly, but the box was also lovingly packaged and it really made opening everything up a true treat- like I was getting gifts and not just an order of some much needed supplies and candy. I guess what I am saying is that I have got two thumbs way up for one hundred wishes, and I can’t wait to need something from them again!!!

For now I’ll go play with glass glitter (still not creating here… still in funk…) and hope that things work out!

this is not a drill:

fall is coming. I repeat, fall is coming.

<insert me giddy and jumping up and down here>

Seriously, so EXCITED that the heat of summer is winding down, and that all the apple, pumpkin, and cooling weather of goodness of fall is coming. When I walked into target today (have not been in 2+ weeks!) they had all kinds of fabulous Halloween and fall goodies, costumes, and even (gasp) a row of Christmas cards. I punched the air victoriously and thought about crafts I could make.

Then, at the grocery store they had a huge box ‘o pumpkins sitting out. (hoorah!)

Oh, and there is this cuteness. Snapped this photo yesterday when we had a cool morning that I could put on the ensemble legitimately due to cold. Need some more (better) photos, but I don’t do posed photos longer than 3-4 minutes MAX with either of my girls… so I have to wait for another day. That owl and those stripes on her… ahhh! Such cuteness!!!

Well I’m off to dream of apple pies, pumpkin baked goods, and being able to wear a sweater… because I’ll be dreaming a bit longer… but fall my friends is definitely coming soon!
