from (under) the desk of May:

I realize that tomorrow my “recipes” class starts. Four weeks and more than 45 layout examples… we’re going to have FUN!!! If you haven’t already you can check it out (and still sign up!) here.

Back to the present… So I’m cleaning out under my desk, taking a break from work (yes, I realize I said cleaning out under the desk was a break… such a glamorous life I lead, no?) and I found this kit I had made a while back.

I also found the lil davis stamp set pictured next to it. Papers, stickers, buttons, and more fun stuff all kind of greens/blues/travel/adventure in theme. I’m guessing I had some post in mind and I was going to give it all away and forgot.

you’ll forgive my forgetful mind, right?

Why am I so sure? Well because I’m giving it away NOW!!! Just leave a comment here to be entered. Winner to be drawn on Saturday.

Before I forget- the winners of flowers from earlier in week: brittany and robindiane (e-mail me mflaum@comcast.net to claim the prize!)

blog blitz!!!

So a few weeks ago I got this e-mail from the ever awesome Stacy Julian, and she asked me to take part in a blog blitz. I needed to take 10 photos, put them in a mini album, and share on my blog on October 1. Of course I knew right away my answer would be HECK YES!!! You may have seen me post a photo of this little bazzill album… and then Monday I posted these photos.

Ten photos that happened between sept 17-28. Ten photos that capture where I’m at right now, and things I love. I took them all and put them into my teenie bazzill album. I am still working on adding more journaling, and so the lighting is BAD, but I don’t want to wait till morning to photograph it! All the stickers are Heidi Grace’s Reagans closet line.

I was worried at first that it’d be too darn small. That I couldn’t work that teenie. Then I decided to go ahead and make my photos cropped (before printing out on a single sheet of paper) 1″ squares. Simple, easy, quick.

Everyday joy and life right now.

and full of love.

I will keep this in my purse and have it with me always.

now that I’ve shared my book, I share Stacy’s challenge with you all:

You have everything you need right now to be vibrant and fully engaged in the creative process. Join me and many other scrapbookers in a challenge to “Give Yourself a Present”

going good!

Knee is feeling a little better. Still crazy tender and easily angered… but better. This is a lifelong thing I get to deal with. It really only acts up when I’m very active, and it’s dang near impossible to tell how much is too much. Good news? I know the early signs of a flare up so I STOP and take care quickly. So it’s days, not weeks.

So anyhow I’ve gotten myself a nice little bed (or sofa) set up. I’m using a TV tray which isn’t ideal for size, but it has a pocket and I can work with my leg under it. I’m working on some projects I can reveal soon… real soon… like this

More to come tomorrow night with all those photos above… but first, a give away!! I’ve got two little bags ‘o flowers from my stash. Just leave a comment here to be entered.

can you say ouch?

Running a bit crazy behind schedule all thanks to the mystery flare up. Am going to work up a crafting kit for me to do in-bed, and share all about that. Keeping my leg up and slightly bent is my most comfortable position. I’ve been here before friends- and with rest and not messing about with my injury I’ll be back on top soon..

Patellar tendinitis is an injury that affects the tendon connecting your kneecap (patella) to your shinbone. The patellar tendon plays a pivotal role in the way you use your legs. It helps your muscles extend your lower leg so that you can kick a ball, push the pedals on your bicycle and jump up in the air.

Yeah- it’s kind of a pain because it effects pretty much my every move! NO pity party here though- I’ll just work around it!

in progress

edited to add: book winner from post last week is MARDI. E-mail me to claim your prize! (mflaum@comcast.net). More prizes to come…

I’m working on a page right now with Kimberly Poloson’s new love letters line- so beautiful.

This is what I have so far. Problem? I have to change out my bobbin thread in the sewing machine. So… while I fight with that here’s peeks at what I’ve got so far. I’m going to sew a ruffle/ribbon across the bottom of this photo of my sister.

Oh- and this cool tool (from Glitz) stamps out grid (roll it on a stamp pad). I just wish it didn’t break and was continuous grid. Still fun though.

Oh- and this flower is from Prima. I’m going to look at making some of my own with my circle cookie cutters + fabric I think. I’ll keep you posted for sure. Now I’m back to the machine to beg for cooperation…
