Fiskars Summer School

Have you been checking out Fiskars Summer School? I hope you like it – I’ve been putting in mega hours (behind scenes) getting the designer projects together & getting them up on the site each Tues & Thurs. I have to say – my little ‘what if we…’ thought about doing it has really turned out better than I anticipated! I *love* what all the ladies are bringing to the table AND seeing how crafters take the ideas and make them into their own creations.

Why bring it up now? I’m taking part as a ‘teacher’ as well, and today you can check out my projects here: http://www.fiskarscrafts.com/projects/t_pagesforsummer.aspx

First- it should come as no surprise that I share a cardstock-only layout. I’ve been loving on those so much I made a whole project now class for Big Picture (that should open ANY DAY!) Oh, and I didn’t even realize it until after I was done, but my sketch that I use is totally a ‘recipe’ I use in scrapbooking this summer!! In case you’re wondering about what my Recipes for Scrapbook Success is going to be like just know I’ll be sharing a post all about it SOON.

In the meantime I promised a give-away and here it is.  A fan-tabulous Fiskars portable rotary trimmer (I’ll even throw in some spare blades!), a L star squeeze punch, a 3-pack of Fiskars adhesive, and a border punch of your choice (boundary waters or apron lace). Want more? Odds are there will be some surprise goodies too! (THANK YOU FISKARS for letting me give away fun stuff!!)

Just leave a comment here to be entered – I’ll draw a winner on the 29th!

Hello, Tuesday.

I got an e-mail from myself, well really it was from Big Picture Scrapbooking about my class (it is a re-run of original) Recipes for Scrapbooking Success over at Big Picture. I’m CRAZY EXCITED to be sharing that class again, and in fact I have some ideas from now until it starts for some fun stuff to do here at my blog.

boundary waters

First, I have this punch and it needs a home. Would you like it? Just leave a comment here! I’ll draw a winner Friday the 24th.

Yesterday we visited daddy at his work (photos coming soon) and visited Scrapbook Territory. It’s about 45min from here – and thanks to stores closing left and right is now my ‘local’ scrapbook store. Of course it’s only about 5miles from J’s  fire station… so if I time a visit just right we can hang with daddy AND I can stock up on much needed supplies. There are some great stores in N.Ca, but Diane always stocks *exactly* the stuff I need and crave. It’s like she stocks her store with me in mind, and I do so appreciate it. It’s lucky for my budget I only get down there every few months.

cutest

Speaking of which, holy freaking cute. Seriously- how could I resist this little 1″ high pirate birdie? He’s nestled in some of the must-have ribbons I made the trip to the store for in the first place.

With our new found treasure and daddy at work today has officially become art day for me and the girls. I’ll be sure to share some results soon!

Foto Friday

Why hello! Oh what’s that? You can see my messy workspace. Egads. Let me explain!

desk

exciting things happening on that laptop & beyond. Stuff I can’t quite talk about but I still wanted to blog this morning and show you around. See my favorite coffee cup? it’s there and (sob) nearly empty. This morning I decided to walk around and take photos to share with you. Ready? Here we go.

I found these ‘mini vintage kits’ by Making Memories at Michaels. I. am. in. love.

mmstuff

speaking of love, have you tried these? ooooohhhh mama.

I’m finishing up a project now class for Big Picture that involves the peeks shown above and below. BIG FUN I tell you, and I can hardly wait to share more.

Speaking of fun, I keep doodling wood grain. How can I use this in my scrapbook? Not sure. I just keep doodling in my super secret full of awesome ideas journal.

I love violets. These two just got put into their proper pots and I hope they flourish. Did you know they do better when you talk to them on a regular basis? I’m so NOT kidding!! When I moved them to a better spot and started saying hello/how are you each day they bloomed – something they’d not done in over a year. Perhaps I have a flower-magical voice?

violets

This thread makes me crazy happy. It’s multi-color and when sewn on the right project is so killer – I love it. (Tex is all bent out of shape because I’ve not been sewing with him lately. Sorry darling!)

thread

oh and Jason picked these up for me yesterday… (gulp)

uhhhh

that’d be a BIG stack ‘o photos I want to play with (mid-May > July 09) but I have some work to do first.

Thanks for spending time in my wacky world this morning – have a great weekend!!

start here.

I’ve always liked Stacy Julian, and I can tell you that the experience of working with her over the past few years and the whole Big Picture crew has just solidified my like. I had a great chat with her earlier this week about my upcoming classes (oh yes, I’ve got new stuff in the hopper and it’s crazy good!) and I LOVE all the new they’ve added to the site.

have you checked out the new look and features of www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com? If not, you totally should. Stacy has a new project now class available for instant download that you must check out. It’s FREE – and a great intro (or refresher!) on Big Picture, scrapbooking, and all the fabulous-ness that is S.J.

Alright, I’m off to work on my own classes (more on that later!) now that I’ve spent over an hour pouring over the coolness that is the new BPS site.
