Product love: Country Drive line by Echo Park Paper

I very rarely buy an entire collection pack. I’m more of a cherry pick it kind of girl. Pick out my favorite designs, choose the pieces that will work best for me. That said, when I found Echo Park’s Country Drive at a scrapbook store I grabbed the pack – I couldn’t think of being without any of it’s lovely pieces!!

It sat here for a few weeks… just patiently waiting for it’s turn to be played with. Well, last week I had an assignment from Ella Publishing to do a layout based on a sketch. Guess who came out to play?

You can check out the article here. I love that the papers and photos work so well for this Easter layout, and would work equally on a summer, girly, or even a boy page as there is lots of green, yellow, and blue papers as well. All those little heart and butterfly stickers on the sticker sheet were my favorite element to work with – you know I love my hearts & flowers!

The glitter in the center of my flowers is distress stickles in tumbled glass, and this layout came together in 37 minutes. I know, fast! LOVE that about working with a single line of product, things coordinate so there’s less time finding the right stuff, more time playing and going on to do more stuff!!

A vintage inspired Easter…

It seems appropriate, given my obsessions with all things doily + distress stain these days that I found a way to work them into my latest article for Ella Publishing, don’t you think?

I wrote an article for their e-zine that you can see here:

http://www.ellapublishing.com/ezine/2011-apr/vintage-easter

All about vintage inspired crafting this Easter, which, happens to be just less than a week away! EEK! But don’t worry. You’ve still got a bit of time to whip up a few cute little details, maybe even share a treat or two…

Ella blog hop.

Have you seen Ella’s newest E-book?

I think it’s a FANTASTIC book and what a great concept too! Personally, I think things that are totally everyday or ordinary are actually quite extraordinary. After all – what’s routine today probably won’t be in a few months or years! Some of my favorite pages are about everyday details like…

  • Most cooked/favorite meal
  • Daily routine
  • inside joke or current funny thing we always talk about
  • Something one of the kids is real into
  • Just happy feelings about today, why I’m blessed, etc.

Or the dog just hanging out…

It’s all good! Anyhow – I’ve got a copy of Ella’s new book Scrapbooking the Everyday for one of you!! Just leave a comment here and I’ll draw a winner later this week.

great article up today on the Ella Blog. I was asked to contribute – see it all here. If you have questions or comments feel free to ask away!

Today on Ella’s blog…

Want to see how these hipstamatic prints were used & how other people used a sketch too? Check out Ella’s blog!

Mostly I used Fancy Pants “tradition” line. LOVE IT!!

I really don’t do sketches very often. When I  do I’m more of a “check out the general look” vs exact size deal. You’ll see what I mean when you check out the post this layout is up on. I went pure 4×4 pics instead of any 3×5 or 5×7 ones. I didn’t have either!

The blue in with traditional red & green really helped make it work for my holiday photos. LOVE this Fancy Pants line.

It’s all about making it work for you, and loving what you do. I’m having a blast.
