Scarlet Lime | Fall canvas tutorial

I’ve been having some FUN here in my studio. Actually declared a “pajama day” Sunday and did nothing but play with the girls + craft. This little canvas was such FAST fun. No really – it took longer to upload to youtube than it did to make!!

I created this for the scarlet lime blog – you can see the post that has supplies, and a how-to video tutorial here: http://christytomlinson.typepad.com/the_scarlet_lime/

I hope you enjoy! I’m so inspired to make more seasonal wall art…

“Boo Crew” layout

today I’m feeling a bit spooky…

*love* this Halloween line so much!!! I’m a big classic orange + black Halloween girl. So I’m thinking it’s time to share a design team project…

I am loving big paper banners – and the Halloween line from Authentique is a big time favorite with me right now. I’m big on keeping things black + orange with my halloween paper – and with just a bit of distress stickles and touch of ribbon this page came together quickly. love it!

These papers will be in stores soon, and I might just have to work up a Halloween-y class with them too. For more info on Authentique you can visit their website: www.authentiquepaper.com

Splendid give-away!

Authentique

I can finally say it out loud. I’ve been whispering about it to myself here in the studio for a few weeks now… it’s AUTHENTIQUE!

What is that? Margie Romney-Aslett (aka all around fabulous woman) is designing lines for them. They are a brand new company. AMAZING. It’s all fabulous. You can “like” it on facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Authentique-Paper/177203238989945

the website will be here: http://www.authentiquepaper.com

Here is the first project I made with Authentique…

I am on the design team (lucky me!!) and you’ll be seeing new projects about once a week here with Authentique.

A vintage inspired Easter…

It seems appropriate, given my obsessions with all things doily + distress stain these days that I found a way to work them into my latest article for Ella Publishing, don’t you think?

I wrote an article for their e-zine that you can see here:

http://www.ellapublishing.com/ezine/2011-apr/vintage-easter

All about vintage inspired crafting this Easter, which, happens to be just less than a week away! EEK! But don’t worry. You’ve still got a bit of time to whip up a few cute little details, maybe even share a treat or two…

Scarlet Lime canvas project

I’ve got some fun creative stuff up my sleeves – including some funky mixed media stuff – like this spring canvas…

It’s featured over at the Scarlet Lime blog today, and you can see the entire project as well as two videos that show my process from background to finishing touches. I used all kinds of fun stuff from the Scarlet Lime shop and made a royal mess as well.

I’ve said it before – I don’t have video equipment. I have beyond basic abilities with my iphone and that is it… still I think it’s a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy!  The videos walk you through my whole process so it’s really like a mini-class! If you have any questions feel free to leave me a comment here.
