Unicorn to my Rainbow: Watercolor Card

So I went shopping some new stamps and found some I simply couldn’t pass up! (Affiliate links used below) Paired with one of my 28 Lilac Lane mixes (Fairy Dust – now shipping!) these Ellen Hutson Unicorn stamps and sentiment  were simply too much fun! I am a really big fan of taking a piece of watercolor paper and just trying new stamps out. No pressure, no fuss! So here today is what I came up with for these new to me sets.

As with so many of my projects, this begins with NO pressure just some stamped fun. I used black archival ink and laid out a few stamps on watercolor paper.

Once I was happy with the sentiment and other stamps, it’s time for some color!

I lightly layered on watercolor bit by bit with Zig Pens. Starting light and adding more is definitely the way to go.

Once done, it’s embellishment time!

The paper I used is 4×5″ so I mounted it to some cardstock for the final card  – and I used some blue ombre thread for stitching.

These Ellen Hutson Unicorn stamps and sentiment  were such fun to play with, and as I always do with a new stamp set just playing around and seeing what happens. I intend to use these sets on some gift wrap projects as well as my scrapbooks. Love ’em!

What have you been stamping lately?
