Roar: A Dino Valentine

Kids are back to school and I’m back to work. What can I do to get things rolling in the new year? I’m thinking craft up something with love in mind – and a new stamp set. Who says that Valentines have to be red & pink? Not me!  I’ve got a tutorial today for this fun Valentine card.

I used a number of products in this card – here are links (affiliate to Scrapbook.com) to the main supplies: Lawn Fawn stamps, 28 Lilac Lane sequins & beads, Tonic Nuvo drops, Clean Color pens, and of course the Tim Holtz stamp platform.

The part of this project I really love is how the splash of color within the heart adds the watercolor touch I needed so easily. I created a YouTube video to show my process for this fun Valentine.

I also really had fun sticking little sequins and things along the heart. Let’s be honest – I loved EVERYTHING about making this card! I also love how it turned out and I enjoyed escaping red for a Valentine.

Don’t get me wrong I love crafting with the whole rainbow of colors- but post Christmas season I’m just not in the mood! I’m hoping to get a jump on some Valentines (since I didn’t send Christmas cards this year) and so I’m creating a few now and then as inspiration strikes. I suspect this stamp set is going to show up a lot more in future!

  1. Love this card! What ink did you use? (I have the zig clean markers and find the inks I have tend to smudge).

  2. Archival ink ALWAYS for use with any water reactive medium distress colors to watercolor to clean color markers.
