Make a Plan: Write it down

Welcome to day 1 of Camp Scrap! For more details about this special blog event, prizes, community, and more check out the FAQ page here.ย

Where does any creative project big or small begin? With a plan, of course! Each Monday during Camp Scrap I will be focusing on some element of planning, and share some ideas and a give away. Today writing inspires me, as it took hours and many pages of writing to make camp Scrap happen!

Last year recovery from an injury meant that for several months I couldn’t use my right (writing) hand at all, and use of it came back oh so slowly and terribly painfully as well. It was during this time as I either dictated to one of my daughters or struggled to make legible scribbles with my left hand that I realized how much I love to write, and how crucial it is for me to be able to do what I do. Here are five reasons why I write:

1. Ideas for the future
As a crafter, often my ideas come to me at the worst possible times. I don’t always have time to make things “right now” whether it is a new technique concept, a scrapbooking story that came to me, or I’m inspired by something I saw and want to try my hand at. Having a notebook to write these ideas means I am very rarely without fresh ideas when I do have time to make, and I have my own well of inspiration when time is available to create.

2. The small steps to get you to the big goals
From creating a vacation scrapbook to trying to pull off a big event (or Camp Scrap here on my blog!) simply wanting to do it, or saying you will isn’t going to get action going. And whether you’re staring down a huge pile of photos or a super messy craft stash – where to begin? If you write down the small steps, the seemingly easy quick things you could do to reach those goals suddenly it got a whole lot easier. Plus I admit – I do so love to check things off a list. You don’t need to know all the steps and you can always add things, but formulating a list of things you want or need to do or include can develop into a heck of a good plan a lot more than simply saying “I want to…”

3. Brain dump for better sleep
Almost every night before bed I write in my “to do” notebook, and that also stays by my bed and well usually within arm’s reach wherever I am. When I am particularly fired up I also keep a blank notebook nearby so that I can sketch project concepts, vacation dreams, work out problems, doodle, or whatever else needs out of my head in order for my brain to peacefully head off to sleep. Sleep is such a vital key to my health and happiness, and writing offers me a stress/anxiety release so I can fully enjoy my slumber.

4. Think through the logistics
Around these parts I’m known as the logistics girl. From what time we need to leave to make it to a function on time to how to best fill a day on vacation and much more that is one of my specialties. While in part a natural gift, it is one I nurture and practice tremendously often with pages considering questions, making note of possible issues, even just running through various options and approaches to a project or problem. I used to sketch all of my projects and scrapbook pages before making them but over time and doing so many hundreds of those, now most projects I can “see” a sketch/plan in my head. When I have a particularly difficult project or something I haven’t ever made before working out the logistics via sketch is the first thing I do.

5. Better use of my time
Often I can see patterns emerge in my lists, or things like “well there’s a birthday in 2 weeks but I also need to get soap and I noticed we are out of counter cleaner so perhaps Target is a good idea…” and make a batch of needs vs every 3 days discovering whoops! My lack of planning has led to an unstoppable chain of scrambling all the time. The same goes for my crafting assignments and for fun stuff – by pausing and taking time to write, it helps me better create time for, well, creating.

My challenge to you: Write down 1 creative project you’d like to do this month.ย It could be anything from “finally make that fairy garden” to “catch 2017 up in my project life scrapbook” to “make that canvas I keep thinking about” or anything in between. Perhaps you want to set up a batch of all occasion greeting cards or learn a new craft. No answer is wrong here – just write it down, and then see what you need to do to make it a reality.

Throughout this article you may have noticed the absolutely beautiful pens in my photos. These are all sold by a company called PenGems – and they have become my absolute favorite writing pen. From to-do lists to wild brainstorms to doodles while I am on the phone I adore these beautiful pens. What could be better? They’ve sent me a trio of bright and beautiful pensย  to share with one of you.

They also shared with me this exclusive discount code:

we created a discount code that you may use on your site, which is CRAFTWITHMAY, the code is for 15% off and does not expire

So if you’re looking for beautiful pens that make writing even the most odious of chores down fun, looking for a unique gift, or just want a bit more sparkle in your life I strongly recommend PenGems. Their pens have been lifting my spirits and helping me set goals and see projects through for about a year now and I am so excited to share this trio of pens (shown here) with one of you.

This give-away will remain open until July 1, 2017. On July 2, 2017 watch for a “winners” post here on my blog where the randomly drawn winner will be listed. For more details about how Camp Scrap works or other ways you can win prizes please see the Camp Scrap FAQ page.ย

HUGE thank you to PenGems for sponsoring this give-away and supporting Camp Scrap! Theirs was one of the first names I wrote down once I knew I wanted to “make a plan” on Mondays during this event and I am so grateful they supported my vision and are offering everyone a discount code, and one of you lovely readers a chance to win a trio of pens. Good luck – and have a great Monday!

  1. Planning is where I need to improve! My immediate plan is to finish the mini albums for my two Grandsons first year. They are both made and just need some more photos and a little journalling. both should be finished as the boys are now 2 years old and year 2 is waiting in the wings ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I want to make a set of at least twelve ATCs about “The Four Elements”: Earth, Air, Fire, Water.

  3. I often find it difficult to decide which project I want to work on next as I have far too many things that I want to do! But I think first up I would like to concentrate on a vacation album for our UK trip.

  4. Those pens are so cute!!! I want to finish my December daily from 2016. I am about 3/4 done. I can do it!!

  5. FOR cHRISTMAS i BOUGHT MY SON SOME CANVASES, PAINTS, ETC. WE WERE GOING TO PAINT SOME PICTURES. WELL, HERE IT IS 6 MONTHS LATER AND WE HAVE NOT TOUCHED THAT PROJECT. sO MY GOAL THIS MONTH IS TO PAINT A PICTURE WITH MY SON. I ALSO WANT TO FOLLOW ALONG IN cAMP SCRAP AND DO SOME OF THOSE PROJECTS TOO.

  6. Those pens look so pretty!! I feel much more organized when I plan things out, I just need to make more time to do it! My project this week is too work on signs for my kiddos rooms. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. First up I need to complete a banner swap that is due the first of july. Then I want to finish a vacation album to New York – just need to bind it and make the covers. All the pages are done, including the photos and ephemera. I’ve done the hard part, just need to get it completed so I can clean up that mess and move on!

  8. mY PLANNER IS A BASIC DAY TO DAY VIEW DIARY FOR TO-DO LISTS. i USED TO USE BASIC NOTEBOOKS BUT MY MOM GOT ME A UNICORN DIARY FOR CHRISTMAS LAST YEAR. SO FAR THIS IS WORKING FOR ME. JUST WISH THERE WERE MORE PLAIN PAGES FOR IDEAS.

  9. One project – actually two – that I want to finish are our Disney books. We went to DisneyWorld in January of 2016 for our daughter’s Sweet 16, and I’m still working on our mini album. Then I have to make my daughter’s. I have a plan to work on one section at a time, which makes it more manageable. I’m also using pocket pages, which speeds things up a lot. Thanks for the chance to win one of those awesome pens, and thank you for this free summer camp!

  10. Well, I made a short list, lol, of 7 items. Most are not small tasks. 1 I have a 30 Jun deadline to turn in my June ugly paper challenge project. 2 I so need to make progress on our last year’s Alaska vacation album. 3 I’ve started making scripture art canvases for our bedroom. 4 I need to do some major pick up & put away on my work table so I stop misplacing things; too many stacked leftovers from finished projects.

  11. I have three items on my list.

    1. Organize my craft room so it is easier to find what I’m looking for
    2. Finish the scrapbook of my son’s high school graduation
    3. Find enough old pictures of my grandparents to do an album dedicated to them

  12. I am almost finished scrapping last summer’s family vacation, and my goal for this week is to just do that last 2 page layout! I even selected one of the papers, made two tags, and placed some of the pictures, and took a picture with my phone of where I think I’m going with this page before putting everything away.

  13. I really like your idea of small bites at a time. This seems to be where I get lost. I want to learn to do scrap booking so bad and make it look nice and effective. I have always wanted to do a nice scrapbook but every thing I have tried has turned out awful and goes in the trash.

  14. I “need” to finish a couple of albums, but I “want” to construct a silhouette card for my sister. I have a big weekend retreat coming up so … maybe needs AND wants can get addressed!

  15. I almost feel like you wrote this article for me! I write to keep my brain and my life organized!! Brain dumps are key to keeping things in order in My head. I’m always making to do lists, and I use my planner every day.

  16. Those are cute pens! I am planning on making a batch of gift card holders to have on hand for birthdays and holidays. I also need to get photos ordered to scrap with. Yea for the first day of Camp Scrap!

  17. This is a good task for me as I am very bad about writing down goals. also, those are some very cool-looking pens!

  18. Planning is NOT my superpower. I buy planners, notebooks, stickers and always start off great and then life overwhelms me. This summer I want to complete a summer scrapbook, sort of my version of Project Life because I’m retired and try to fill the summer with fun adventures. I also do a daily art challenge called One Little Tag and I want to keep that up all summer.

  19. I would like to complete my daughters graduation album, I’m in the process of collecting photos & deciding how I would like to lay out, now I just have to complete

  20. This is the summer that I am finally going to begin painting with watercolors! I took a wonderful class on how to paint the ordinary things/scenes around us using watercolors but I was too nervous to actually make a painting. The class even showed how to take supplies on the go and paint the world around me…i want to put what i have learned to use and mae some small watercolors of the places we visited on our East coast road trip last summer and give them to my family this Christmas…thanks for the nudge to make a plan for this!

  21. I am lAUGHING SO MUCH AS i READ THIS POST TODAY. lAST NIGHT WHEN i WAS WORKING IN MY ART JOURNAL i WAS THINKING TO MYSELF, WHAT ARE TEN THINGS i WANT TO DO BEFORE THE END OF JULY. tEN ARTSY TYPES OF THINGS. sO, THIS MORNING, (AT THE UNGODLY HOUR OF 3AM) i POURED MY COFFEE, SAT AT THE TABLE WITH SOME WASHI TAPE AND MY GEL PENS (NOT NEARLY AS PRETTY AS THE GEL PENS IN THE GIVEAWAY) AND WROTE A LIST OF TEN ARTSY THINGS i WANT TO DO BEFORE jULY 30.
mAKE A PAPERBAG JOURNAL, 2 FRIENDSHIP ZINES, 8 ART JOURNAL ENTRIES, 12 iNSTAGRAM POSTS, 5 CARDS, 2 OUTDOOR PHOTO WALKS, USE MY STASH, COLOR WITH MY SPECTRUM NOIRS (i HAVE HAD THEM ALMOST A YEAR AND NOT EVEN TAKEN THEM OUT OF PACKAGE), GO ON AN ARTIST DATE, AND LASTLY, MAKE ONE YOUTUBE VIDEO.
i WILL POST A PIC IN THE fACEBOOK GROUP OF MY JOURNAL ENTRY SO YOU CAN SEE THIS, MY HANDWRITING IS crud, BUT IT WORKS FOR ME. i WOULD LOVE TO WIN THESE PENS, BUT EVEN IF i DO NOT, i WILL BE BUYING AT LEAST ONE. thanks.

  22. I want to start a weight loss mini book. Ive just started to lose weight for a really important reason after struggling with trying to lose weight over a few years. Im hoping documenting it will give me the boost to get my bmi into a healthy range!

  23. My monthly plan is to work on my claymation. I’m currently working on a remake of the ring haunted video tape and i cant wait to finish it ????

  24. Scrapbook album of our journey from Florida to New Mexico for a 2 year contract I took. I have lots of pics to accomplish this goal!

  25. I am hoping to dig into my wedding and honeymoon album…at least the planning phase of them both. The wedding is in July and the honeymoon is in August, so summer will be pretty much winding down by the time it’s all over. Having plans in place to start scrapping would be awesome.

  26. I need to complete the journaling for the scrapbook pages from our Out West trip from 2015! Luckily I kept a travel journal (thanks to your suggestion) so I won’t forget what happened. Love those sparkly pens!!

  27. i HAVE TWO PROJECTS i WANT TO COMPLETE. The FIRST IS i WANT TO MAKE A BANNER FOR Canada day on July 1st. My second is to make at least 10 cards so I have a stash of cards for when I need one. I will plan to set aside some time each day.

  28. I want to actually complete 2016 project life and get started on 2017. I have recently started planning and writing more stuff down and it’s really great!

  29. These are all great ideas. I especially like the one about brain dumping before sleeping. It really would help stop the brain spinning if you took time to get ideas and plans on paper before trying to go to sleep! I’m planning to create some gifts and cards for a birthday get together coming up in July.

  30. so many projects in my brain!!!! My immediate plan is to do my second daughter’s baby album, and then do something with her wedding photos!

  31. Love the pens! I need to add photos to ALL the projects (mini albums) I’ve finished. I have at least 10 projects with not photos in them!

  32. I love planning! So much so, that I often just keep planning instead of doing! This summer I’d like to make a dent in my son’s wedding photos.

  33. Im new to the planner game, but have notes left everywhere. My favourite pen is my sonic screwdriver pen that was a gift this last Christmas.
My current plan is to create teacher cards asap

  34. I have a friend who raves about these pens! there are so many projects I WANT TO TACKLE INCLUDING EXPLODING BOXES AND STUFFED ENVELOPES.

  35. I would like to resume project life. The year was going very well until we went on vacation in March and since then….nothing. So, time to start again. I’d plan to begin doing project life again beginning with this week.

  36. I want to make a quilt, basket, wipes container and burp cloths for my cousin’s baby girl! I’ve only made one other quilt and the project seems overwhelming! If I break it up into sections, I think it will be manageable!

  37. I Want to finish my 2016 December daily and get further on my daughter’s album.

  38. My goal is to get caught up with my daughters photos and be ready to start a new album for when my 2nd child arrives.

  39. I have got to start and finish a mixed meDIA dANCE SCRAPBOOK FOR MY NIECE BEFORE August 20TH!!!!

  40. AAAHHH THE STEP I ALWAYS SKIP! WELL, TODAY’S THE DAY TO CHANGE THAT. MY FIRST GOAL IS TO develop A SYSTEM SO THAT I CAN GET 3 MONTHS AHEAD ON MAKING CARDS TO SEND TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY FOR BIRTHDAY’S, HOLIDAYS, SPECIAL EVENTS, ETC. THIS MEANS HAVING THE CARDS AND ENVELOPES DONE…STAMPED..AND JUST WAITING TO GO IN THE MAILBOX SO I NEVER SEND A BELATED CARD AGAIN – OR MISS IT ENTIRELY. THIS IS SOOOO IMPORTANT! I’m on it!

  41. Thank you mAY FOR GETTING ME TO COMMIT TO THIS PROJECT. I want to put my Ireland trip in my vacation album (TRIP WAS September 2017)

  42. Oh, those pens look yummy! how wonderful for the chance to win them. the one project I’d love to get started on is a mini album for my daughter of her cute rescue dog. I think she would love and appreciate that more than anything else. thanks again for the chance to win those yummy pens!

  43. I would like to scrapbook pictures of my daughter’s bridal shower last year. In fact I have quite a few occasions/events with lots of pictures to scrapbook. I have been loving making cards and learning about copic markers, but those pictures and stories have been neglected. I like the format that you set up for Camp scrap, and that you included scrapbooking.

  44. So many options! But will pick 2. Finish quilt for great grandson & finish album for my 16 year old granddaughter. My handwriting is a challenge, but I have found that the right pen makes it easier.

  45. Those pens look fantastic ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you Pengems for sponsoring ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m bad at list I can make them whole heartly but not excute the items on the list ๐Ÿ™‚ I created a list to do for July 2017 and hopefully will do something with it. For this week I need to do atleast 1 DT layout so I’m thinking to get a few more DT projects on this list to get done. I would like to work on my Dec Daily 2016 during July while making cards with any leftovers to that will be a big focus for me during Camp Scrap as well as any DT projects.

  46. I want to complete a decorative piece I started using buttons. This is the first time making a piece starring buttons so a little intimidating.

  47. My goal is to restart Project Life-I enjoy doing it, and the kids love looking through it, I just dislike printing pictures, so I get stopped up. I need a picture printing session I guess!

  48. I am a planner in all of my life, except for crafting which generally is something I turn to whenever there is nothing else planned. So, I “plan” to begin planning my craft projects and the first item on the to do list is to resume work on my 2017 album. I take a hybrid approach combining a pocket page layout for each month with traditional 12 x 12 layouts for “special events”.

  49. Those pens are awesome! I would like to do a mini album for my nephew who is due in September. I did one two years ago for my sister’s first born and she loved it. Getting started is always the difficult bit- what paper line, format? etc. I pre decorate everything so she just has to stick photos in and Journal. Thanks for the chance to win May!

  50. Planning is such a great idea, and one I need to work on! My creative challenge is to plan and start (perhaps complete?) my Christmas cards this summer. I hate rushing as the holidays roll around and doing them this summer when it’s not so stressful would be terrific.

These pens are delightful! So pretty.

  51. I get it. I injured my right wrist at christmas ( torn ligaments) and couldn’t write right-handed for nearly 6 months. I made use of note apps and my left-handed writing got pretty good.

my goal is to convert an vintage book cover into a mini album (finally) and fill it with photos. I have 2 in mind, hiking and a trip to australia.

    I adore those pens!

  52. Thanks for your writing tips! I plan often and use a small planner type book to do so! I keep a running list of “to do’s” . I hadn’t thought to do my craft ideas in that manner. I made a quick list of online classes that I have purchased and still need to be completed. Its a nice reminder of what I still want to explore and get done.

  53. There are lots of creative projects I want to get done! I have a few crochet work in progresses, as well as a bunch of stamping supplies, and SO MUCH washi tape to use to create!
i think the first thing on my creative to-do list is to finish up this crocheted “quilt” blanket i’ve been working on and off on for years!

  54. Ironically I have a huge to do list of plans for the next month! So I shall pick one and that is a present to myself was signing up for Jane Davenport Fabulous Faces online workshop. So, my project for the month (at least this project) is to stay current with that class, of course as well as Camp Scrap, to really get something out of it and see progress as it emerges from actually following through and practicing!

  55. I would love to paint something beautiful on a large canvas and put it in my family room. I was gifted a 4’x4′ canvas and really want to use it. The pens are gorgeous. Thanks for a chance to win. ~~rita

  56. My goal is to organize and pocket scrapbook my 2017 photos thus far. It’s half done just need to finish it. I’m a teacher and school in my state goes until June 23 so after that I’m all in!!

  57. Fun pens and planning is a good place to start! One creative project I want to really get into is selling some of what I make, specifically the ceramic tiles I paint. I haven’t seen any other work that looks like mine. I have already started on the research part of what it takes but not the leap yet.

  58. There are so many things I’d like to do! I finally printed photos for Project life, so now getting them in the ablum seems like a next good step. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so glad I found this page today!

  59. My goal in the next two weeks while I am on holiday is to clean and sort my supplies and move them to a different area of the house.

  60. I actually have 2 plans for this summer. The first is to put together my “Week in my Life” album. I have all the photos & journaling notes (got those done in April); I just need to pull everything together into a mini binder album. The second is a wee bit larger–scrapbook the trip my brother & SIL took our mom on to the U.K. last year. I’m dividing that up into 3 albums, one for each country. I have two layouts done already (yay, me!), and have all the photos printed. My mom wrote up the journaling from notes she took on her trip. We have plenty of paper & embellishments. I just need to get my mind wrapped around it well enough to get it done! I’m fighting depression these days (have for years, to a greater or lesser extent), so it’s hard to make myself sit down & do a large project. I’ll have to try breaking it down further into baby steps, and see if that doesn’t help. Thank you for doing Camp Scrap again, May–I’m looking forward to the rest! ๐Ÿ™‚ ~ Andrea

  61. i WANT TO SPEND TIME LATER THIS WEEK SORTING OUT JUST 1 OR 2 OF MY MANY BOXES OF MEMORABILIA FROM MY KIDS’ YOUNGER DAYS. i WANT TO JOT DOWN HOW i WILL USE EACH THING i KEEP IN A STORY. i KNOW i HAVE MUCH TOO MUCH SAVED, AND COULD REALLY USE THE ROOM FOR OTHER THINGS. wISH ME LUCK

  62. Thank you for the reminder to break down “to-dos” into smaller digestible bites so the big project gets done. My project for this Xmas is to make a “Ghost of Christmas Past” mini for our nephew who has spent the last 9 Xmas’ with us. First designate the years, 1-2 telling photos from each year 2008- 2016, what mixed media I want to unify the album (know that it will have paint, stencils & stamping). The other project is to make a TN mini album of our upcoming trip using the same process as the Xmas album.

Your Pengems are making me drool! i love how they write and they’re beautiful to look at too. I’m looking forward to more “May” inspiration at Camp Scrap 2017. Thank you!

  63. I keep telling myself I want to get things done. Maybe this summer I will do just that. I make lists and I try really hard and I always manage to fall short. this year I made a plan– I told myself I would let myself just have fun. I am stamping, and learning about new crafts and just going with the flow. when things get done I mark them off my list– when they don’t get done i am trying to be zen about the whole process. I love the Pen gems– they are so pretty. My new thing is to keep a notebook by my bed so I can keep track of what i have been able to cross off MY LIST. cAMP SCRAP IS ONE THING THAT IS FOR SURE ON MY LIST. lol

  64. I have inside and outside projects to focus on. Outside I want to make an old foundation into a beautiful patio. Inside I want to scrap more and with friends. Now to get that broken down!

  65. 1 project I plan on working in the next month is documenting my daughter’s graduation from the University of Washington…go huskies! ????????

  66. Oh May!
I do LOVE lists โค๏ธ So…. Monday, make a list Day!
Big or small, soon or not….. love it!
Sort out crafting area. My crafting area is incorporated in my office, I have recently reorganised it so I am not using my work area for craft as it gets so cluttered, but I want all my craft things organised
    1. Get embellishments sorted
    2. Play & practise with new stamps
    3. Make some gift tags
    4. Birthday card for Paige!

  67. Great post! I have many ideas and always forget to write them down which in turn always leads to those projects never getting started so I really appreciate all of your tips. One thing I would like to do this month is to complete this mixed media tag that I started ages ago. My goal is to make that plan and get it done!

  68. I want to finish my Zion National Park album. I only have 2 days left, but so many photos. I JUST NEED TO buckle down and do it. I get distracted by newer photos and other projects.

  69. Those pretty pens were the first things I noticed. I love anything that writes. Any way I would like to learn Calligraphy.

  70. A project I need to dig into is getting my sorority scrapbook up to date. I leave for convention in July and I have not archived my previous conventions and events. i’m running the risk of getting them confused.
Sorry my cap key is not working.

  71. The very first project I need to do is some knitting for a raffle for the needlework retreat which I am attending. After that are photos to be documented and put into albums and then to begin working on my genealogy again.

I live my life with to-do lists. Checking items as done is extremely satisfying ๐Ÿ™‚ and there is honestly no way that i could remember everything without them.

Thank you for the opportunity to win the pens – they are very cute ๐Ÿ™‚

  72. I moved last August and want to put together a album about the move. I made a list of all the steps I need to take to accomplish this goal. Love the pens; pretty and sparkly.

  73. This month I continue on my quest to scrapbook 2016 – planning to get things up to date through July 2016 within the next two weeks. I’m very much a planner when it comes to my “general” scrapbooking. I even remake the list a few times as I go as things get done or I find there are other photos or stories from an event I want to tell.

  74. I would like to start a health and art journal in the same pages. I love mixed media so that’s the path I would like to take .

  75. Better use of my time is where I need to focus on. I have big dreams of holding kids craft classes and making kids craft kits, alongside all my other creative interests – knitting, embroidery and scrapbooking

  76. I’be been working on an altered book for a teacher’s gift for quite some time. After one failed attempt I’m hoping to give it to her at the start of the school year!

  77. I want to work on a scrapbooking album for me. Always felt that doing a me album would be selfish, but maybe would help find my way back to creativity.

  78. I am trying hard to finish December Daily 2016!! I just have a few days left. Then it’s on to my week in the life album for 2017!

  79. These pens are so gorgeous. I always meant to try to look up where to get them. I love your pictures. They inspire me to go and write in my notebook! hugs, treen

  80. My planning project during the class is a photobooth canvas album to house random photostrips from some of our adventures.

  81. My plan is to catch up on my grandson’s scrapbook before I travel to see him again next month.

  82. I have been working on a wooden toy business. I would like to finish moving into my home, organizing my craft room and getting the business going.

  83. I want to really explore using black cardstock as emboss resist painting. I have seen so many striking cards dine with this technique. It really intrigues me

  84. I can’t believe so many people have the same problem that I do: many unfinished projects! I would like to finish an album of a trip last September that is only half done.

  85. I want to finish the scrapbook pages I’ve made kits for for my son’s 7th birthday (he’s now 14!)

  86. I have just been to Great American Scrapbook Convention and want to finish my class kits.

  87. I need to inventory my handmade finished cards. I need to sort and file them and add envelopes and a finishing sleeve. I really want the goal of doing a crafts fair this Fall and organizing this project will help me know what types I am missing, etc.

  88. Oh the pens are beautiful, and yes I noticed them right away!!! lol. tHANK YOU FOR GETTING THEM TO GIVE ONE AWAY..

i HAVE A SPECIAL , SEPARATE, CALENDAR JUST LIKE YOU SAID YOU HAD A DAILY ONE AND A CRAFTING ONE. tHIS WAS BRILLIANT. i SCHEDULE TIME TO CRAFT ON MY DAILY ONE. AND GO TO MY CRAFT CALENDAR AS WHAT TO DO.

sO i SCHEDULED A BUNCH OF THANK YOU CARDS, THEN i THOUGHT OF THINKING OF YOU CARDS, AND UP COMING SYMPATHY CARDS.

    cAN’T WAIT FOR TOMORROW’S BLOG!

  89. my pipe dream project is tying my genealogy research together with some mixed media/heritage scrapbooking to create the ultimate family memory book.

  90. I want to practice more, with my dip pen and fountain pens – modern calligraphy.

  91. one of my goals is to get all of my current finished layouts into albums. since I create what i feel at the moment i keep a stack of finished layouts then need to sort and add to the correct year or “special” album like vacations or event (comic con)

  92. Love, love, love those pens! one of my goals is to get my stack of layouts into an album. I also want to organize my scrap room better.

  93. To Create a Little free library…I have the perfect location, just need to get it done!!
ps love those pens; fave colors!

  94. I need to get a planner. I am just meandering through my retirement getting not much of anything done. I have made some progress on a picture and frame for one of favorite FB doggie friends. One of the thing s I needed to do was look up making a wash with acrylic paint-so I just did it. A step forward! I love the pens and checked out the website. Several varieties-which ones are you using?

  95. Those are seriously gorgeous Pens. Wow.

I would like to finally get in a routine to do videos and also regular cards!

  96. I love the pens! I am such a penaholic and to do list maker. I have gotten to the point that I make a to done list too. Sometimes I have the best of intentions (to do) and then real life hits and I have other things to get done. (To DONE) So I started writing down all the things I got DONE at the end of the day so I didn’t feel so defeated when things didn’t get done on the “to do” list! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have 10 things on my crafty list of things to do for June and I have done 6 of them. I want to finish my “life is beautiful” mini book.

Have a great night and thank you for the opportunity to play with new pens!

  97. I want to catch up with my Project Life album.I was really good at it for the first few months of the year, but now I have not been working on this album as much a I would like.

  98. This summer I want to start the 5 calendars I’m planning to make as Christmas gifts (instead of waiting til the last minute and freaking out!

  99. I was hoping you’d tell us where to find those pens!!

I’m just getting to this first post of Camp Scrap because I had a couple of projects already written down to complete first:
    (1) set up a new website for a retreat I’m launching soon
    (2) created Christmas cards for a class I’m teaching in July

With both those projects checked off today, I’m planning to work on the One Little Word materials I’m behind on and scrap our photos and memories from March!

  100. I’m working on some mini albums which are always given last place in my limited time for creativity. One of them is about my love for coffee. One is “things that make me happy”. The final one really should have been finished awhile ago. It’s titled “One year back to you” and I started it when my husband went to Korea for a year without us. I journaled my emotions during that year and then got way too stressed to finish. I’ll get it done. Someday.

  101. I’m looking forward to starting a vacation album as soon as my photos arrive in the mail. Thanks, May, for Camp Scrap, it’s always so fun!

  102. My most current plan: make my mom a set of cards. She likes to send cards to people and I want to make a set for her to include in her card stash. Im about 4 into a plan to make a dozen. After that I need to get things planned for a retreat I’m taking in October.

  103. I am hoping to finish my “smash books” of my daughter’s favorite outfits from when she was a smaller child (she just turned 10 yesterday). That would clear out a lot of piles.

  104. I am going to start a total life scrapjournal for every aspect of my life. Mental, physical, emotional, spiritual etc.. From beauty , exercise, cooking, friends, family, adventures so on and so on. Its going to be a Huge project for me for the little time I do have available. Hoping this will help me create more me time!!

  105. I am so glad you posted about these lovely pens. I was admiring them and would love to win a set. They can help me with my goal of actively journaling.

  106. Planning is essential to keeping order in life! I sat down and wrote a master to-do list last Monday and scheduled a lot of the items in my calendar. Im quite surprised by how much I’ve accomplished on it within the last week or so. I don’t see it as overwhelming, I just have a plan in place to deal with it all. Ive just finishing reading Work Clean which takes the concept of miss-en-place from the culinary world to work and home life. Planning is essential : the first thing.

  107. The project I most want to dig into this month is making a mini book commemorating my son’s graduation. I am thrilled that Camp Scrap is here! Yay!

  108. I want to get better organized. so that I don’t spend so much of my valuable crafting time-LOOKING for things.

  109. great reminder to write down the steps to achieve a goal. I find this also helps elevate it out of the heap of several as yet unrealized projects, and that focus contributes to finally getting it done.

  110. I am feverishly working to get 2017 Project life current — I’m in the last week of April and headed for July 1st!

  111. Those pens are beautiful!
my big project I need to tackle is organizing my stamp/craft room! doesn’t sound very creative, but hopefully will get me to the point where i can be creative when I can find the things I am looking for!

  112. what a super fun confetti pocket-I think it would make a great insert in a scrapbook, or on a card too-thanks for the inspiration!
