Sneak Peek + what is new around here…

I’m currently working on another update to my stencil class (at www.craftwithmay.com) – this time I will be showing a trio of stenciled cards including the one above as well as a video walking through using stencils to create color, detail, and texture on a mixed media canvas project. Fun stuff!

Speaking of fun – I’m developing several new classes (simultaneously – what am I thinking?! LOL!) and having such a fun time with them!

Stamping for Scrapbookers is first up – it is going to focus on stamp technique application for scrapbooking specifically. So often we see and use techniques on cards and other non-photo projects – so I want to bring a class just about stamping + scrapbook layouts. Loving it so far- and if you are a Creative Retreat student you already saw the first lesson! If you are a newsletter subscriber watch for news this week + a discount code! (if not – hurry and sign up so you don’t miss out!) Registration will open later this week.

Title TBD – I’m working on a class about my distressed life. By distressed, I mean Tim Holtz distress products! How I use them, my favorite techniques, most used color combos, and so much more! This class may show up as a local store class option as well – we shall see!

Finally – or rather coming VERY soon – I’m finishing up some projects for a neat guest designer spot that I will be sharing with you soon.

Of course this is on top of making art for our cookie booth (Girl Scouts), planning a Frozen birthday party, and of course class Valentines on Friday…

NEVER a dull moment – good thing I’m back to full speed because I’m gonna need every ounce of energy and strength for all that is currently on my desk!!

Have a lovely Wednesday –

May

  1. May,
I have a love affair with hearts at the best of times but LOVE what you have done with the hearts in this card!
Looking forward to seeing the process and working on my own methods too!

  2. Putting in my vote for you to teach your distress class at It’s All About the Scrapbook in Dixon. Pleeeeease 🙂

  3. Can’t wait for your distressed life!!! And can I please have an invite to the Frozen bday party – just loved that movie!

  4. Oh I will definitely look into the stamping for scrapbooking class. I’m just afraid cause I’m not very tech savvy. I can’t load anything. It’s something I’d enjoy very much hopefully I can. At least try. Oh and I love the distress line too. Also looking forward to seeing your guest designer work. Sounds like lots of awesome stuff going on. Michelle t

  5. May your stencil class is some of the best money I’ve spent on an online class. LOVE IT! Can I make a request? Can you get me to using those embossing folders that I finally quit buying but have a bunch of in my stash that never seem to get used? Hugs!

  6. I am so glad you are working on a stamping and scrapbooking class. I have a huge stamp cache but am so addicted to beautiful papers. I primarily make mini-albums, and tend to just use the papers. I understand why since most of the tutorials I see are from paper companies. I have wished someone would do this so I can incorporate stamps. You are the most down-to-earth instructor I’ve found and I’m so glad you are spreading your wings.
