What did I make? I went super inky + some new stamp goodness for a card.

How-to:

1. On thick cardstock set doily stencil and ink with various colors. Then coat with glossy gel medium and let dry.

2. Die cut cardstock heart, stamp with star and word stamps. Then ink the whole heart and edge with brown ink. Set aside.

3. Paint metal word accent, let dry. Then scratch away (use sanding paper) the paint leaving paint only in the letters indentations.

4. Once dry, take that cardstock that was stenciled and rub lightly with distress ink. Wipe away any excess.

5. Assemble card by placing the stenciled paper (with torn edges) onto cardstock. Then add washi tape, heart, metal accent, and stitch ribbon into place as a finishing touch.

  1. I haven’t done anything like this for a while. You have really inspired me with your beautiful card. Thanks so much for the instructions on how you did it too! Beautiful!!!

  2. This is so pretty May and I adore the colours you’ve chosen to use! A really fantastic design and a great card… 🙂

  3. Of all the work on that card, the first thing I noticed (and what I like best) is the smashed-up, sewn-down ribbon. You always have great ideas, May.

  4. Beautiful colors on the card. I love the metal plate and the ribbon makes such a pretty accent. Michelle t

  5. Thanks for sharing the use of gel medium with the stencil– I was wondering how you achieved that effect. Its different than when using embossing paste and I really like the effect you achieved on your card. Yeah for purples 🙂

  6. That is an amazing card. I love this color combination. Thank you for including the step so I can try something similar.
