Stamp & Show challenge – embracing the old

This week we’re focusing on “Old” over at Simon Says Stamp and show – and you could take that so very many directions! I encourage you to head over to visit Simon Says Stamp & Show to see all of the other creations and to enter. This week’s prize (as always) is a $50 voucher to Simon Says Stamp! The winner is randomly drawn – you can enter by posting to your blog, flickr, or other site too. See the blog for entry details and rules. I decided to blend my new and old…

My card was actually a combination of a few projects – part of an abandoned tag that hadn’t worked combined with a card that needed some cover-up on a yucky mistake. I *love* the result of the two partial projects combined, almost as much as I love how old Jenni Bowlin products work amazing with the new stuff! You can see I’ve stamped. edged (red ink and paint), and I even took some plain alphabet stickers and added red paint + glossy accents to make them perfectly match my card!

I will definitely be pulling this old foam stamp out more often – as well as using more book paper in my crafting. I do so love the look of it! I hope you’ve enjoyed my card and been inspired to join us – you can interpret the challenge in any way you like and join us in crafting in the new year – with something old!

  1. Very cute card, May. Love the idea of combining a partially used project (that might have otherwise found the trash can) and mixing it with something new. You certainly found the perfect “new life” for your old piece. Your card is really cute! <3 Candy

  2. Lovely valentines card. The text background is wonderful mix with the stamped images. Love that you merged a few accidents together into a beautiful card.
