challenge: 12tags

New week, new challnge! This week we’re inspired by the awesome Tim Holtz and his 12 tags series!  I encourage you to head over to visit Simon Says Stamp & Show to see all of the other creations and to enter. I loved walking down memory lane and seeing all of the tags and finding technique inspiration too.

This week’s prize (as always) is a $50 voucher to Simon Says Stamp! The winner is randomly drawn – you can enter by posting to your blog, flickr, or other site too. See the blog for entry details and rules.

First off, I did exactly as Tim did through step 15 (well, except mine was just one shape) on his tag #10 from 2009. Then I stamped (with archival) my ‘winter’ image and attached the snowflake (coated in picket fence distress stickles and white paint) to the snowman.

supplies used:

For the background, I painted it (white), sprayed and smudged a bit of mist and picket fence distress stickles, and tied it off with trim and stickers. Way too easy!

I loved this challenge, and I’ll definitely be browsing Tim’s 12 tags archives for technique inspiration again in the near future. I hope you’ll be joining us in the challenge too!

  1. I love what you stamped your snow guy with, and that he is looking the left…most have him looking left. That background is fabulous as well! BRRR! I can feel the chill! Wonderful work!

  2. Hi May, your background is a perfect backdrop for your snowman. Love the added stamping to the snowman’s body and the snowflake is a lovely touch. Enjoy your week May. Tracy x

  3. May…your little snowman tag is darling! Love what you’ve done with the snowman. The bits of stamping on his body are so cute! The blue background on the tag really looks like a frosty, snowy winter’s night. <3 Candy
